The civil war started in 1861 and ended in 1885. Another name for the civil war are War of Revolution. This was a war against the states. This grew and tore the nation apart. The war was very dangerous in Georgia, many diseases killed many people. The harsh hot conditions killed many people.The heat and bugs (mosquito) harmed every many people. Over 70,000 people died in the state of Georgia. In Georgia settlers called this the bloody state because of all the deaths.
