    The battle of Shiloh was a battle in April of 1862 in the area in Tennessee called Shiloh. The Union general Grant was poised to attack Confederate forces in Corinth Mississippi. However Confederate forces attacked the Union forces and gained the upper hand. The next day the Union counter attacked and won. There were over 23,000 deaths in that battle alone being the bloodiest battle America had experienced so far.

In the battle Forrest attacked Lexington Tennessee which was under control of the Union. Forrest overwhelmed the defenders in Lexington being a victory for the Confederate forces.

William Rosecrans and Braxton Bragg had a tactical draw at first but then reinforcements arrived and overrun the Confederate forces.

    The Battle of Franklin was a battle in Franklin Tennessee. Confederate general John Bell Hood tried to take out a Union force retreating to Nashville. The attack was unsuccessful with over 6,000 deaths and six dead confederate generals.
